Why is Reddit so angry at people who invest in Shares and lumping us all in with Property investors?

A Reddit user in r/AusFinance questions why the platform is hostile toward share investors and groups them with property investors. Top comments argue the sentiment is exaggerated, with several pointing to past polling failures as evidence Reddit is out of touch with real-world opinion.

The discussion reflects a broader tension between those who see investing as a path to financial security and those who view tax breaks for investors as unfair. It also highlights the gap between online sentiment and public opinion on economic policy.

Reddit hates anyone that does more than sit on the computer all day talking about how hard it is. God forbid you try and actively work toward a better life. Shun, shun, shun!

Haven't seen anything on that other than people claiming we should be taxed properly. Which, fair. The tax breaks were good but subsidised by less well-off people effectively. I'm with the Barefoot Investor guy on this
