Sounds very helpful but then you also need to be truthful with your request and not underestimate what you actually need. What i've noticed is people who lure you into helping them with a (seemingly) small request only to make more and more "small" requests...

I just want to add that giving someone room to say no is also very important... Otherwise, it feels like a trap. "Feel free to say no," is life changing and everyone appreciates being given an out for any situation.
