A highly-upvoted Reddit post in r/pcmasterrace claims broader indifference to a perceived Sony reversal on PC game ports. Commenters largely agree, dismissing any need to purchase a PlayStation 5 to play exclusives.

The reaction reflects a hardening divide in the console-versus-PC market, where platform loyalty weakens as PC libraries expand. Sony's strategy shift could risk alienating the audience it courted with prior PC releases.

Key details

  • Post score of 22,281 with 1,877 comments in r/pcmasterrace suggests strong community engagement.
  • Top commenter notes there are 'so many games on PC' that missing a few exclusives feels like 'their loss, not mine.'
  • Another user criticises Sony for only porting 'two or three' of the games PC gamers wanted and specifically calls out absent titles like Bloodborne.
  • Multiple commenters state they will not buy a PS5 just to play single-player exclusives.
  • One user frames Sony's move as a cycle: court PC gamers with ports, then pivot back to exclusivity and expect those gamers to follow—and sees it failing.

Discussion angles

  • PC gamers hold little buyer’s remorse after Sony’s prior limited port selection; missed exclusives are dismissed as a minor loss.
  • The high cost of a console compared to existing PC hardware is a decisive barrier, even for desirable single-player games.
  • Commenters accuse Sony of mixed signals—soliciting PC attention only to return to exclusive tactics—and predict the strategy backfires.
  • Several users explicitly threaten to withhold cash from Sony if games are not released on PC, framing purchasing as conditional.
  • Specific port omissions (Bloodborne, Ratchet & Clank, Killzone trilogy) fuel resentment and shape the indifference narrative.

Top comments

Most commenters downplay the impact of losing potential future PlayStation PC ports, emphasising PC's large library and refusing to invest in a console. Criticism focuses on Sony’s inconsistent porting and unmet demand for specific legacy titles.

i mean i care...but not THAT MUCH. Ok i'll miss some games i was interested in. Its their loss, not mine, there is so much games on PC that i don't have to feel bad about it....

You scumbags only ported two or three of the ones we begged for, anyway! Where the hell was Killzone trilogy, the original Ratchet and Clank games, Crash Nitro-Fueled? And most important of all, where the flying fuck was Bloodborne?...

Look, do I want to play their single player games? Yes. Will I spend hundreds of dollars on a console when I have a PC? No.
